Po was tired after a long day of training. The all-important Kungfu Championship was just around the corner and Shifu was making all the disciples train harder.

With a huge sigh, Po flopped down onto his bed. Besides the strenuous training schedule, he had one more problem the other disciples did not have: he was overweight. Thus, he did not meet the Championship weight requirement and would not be able to take part. Shifu was pressuring him to lose more weight.

“But how can I when the training takes up so much of my energy?” he whined to himself.

Just then, Oogway entered the room.

“G-g-good afternoon, Master Oogway. I-I was...”

“It is all right, Po. Relax. I just came to see how you were. Preparing yourself for the Championship?”

“Err, yes. I mean! No, Master Oogway.”

“Ah yes. I think Master Shifu mentioned something about Championship requirements not being met?” asked the wise Oogway.

Too ashamed to speak, Po just stared at his toes.

“Let me tell you a story, Po.”

And Master Oogway told Po his story, of how he used to be an overweight turtle and was never chosen to represent the Valley of Peace in the Kungfu Championship.

“So what did you do?” asked Po in awe.

Master Oogway then revealed that his teacher then, Master Baitoo, taught him a very old kungfu move, called Stretching Lion Seeking Serpent. If he practiced it regularly, the kungu move would give him the shape of an ideal fighter.

So every day, Po trained with Master Oogway, trying his best to perfect the move. In time, he lost just enough weight to meet the Kungfu Championship and brought honour to the Valley of Peace.
